I am looking for some intrepid adventurers to help me with a Pacific oyster survey and control this Saturday ( December 4th). These non-native Oysters colonise rocks and shallow water, creating reefs which are a hazard to small boats. The Pacific Oysters on the shore also make it difficult to pull dinghies up. We will be doing our annual survey along the rocks by Greatwood Quay, and destroying Pacific Oysters attached to the rocks ( which cannot be collected by Oystermen)thus helping to keep down the populations in the Fal.
