Ladies Who Launch

Ladies who Launch is a group for all female members of MYC.

We meet during the winter months — generally from October to April — at the Clubhouse on the 2nd Monday of the month. These meetings offer a choice of activities to start with, comprising an Art – related Workshop, Book Club, Bridge Club or Debating Group. Lunch is always a bring-and-share arrangement followed by a Speaker, often but not always a club member. We like to organise an “adventure” for the afternoon, which could be paddle boarding, gig rowing or a nature walk.

In addition, a number of pop-up experiences are organised throughout the year, often at short notice, and appear on the LwL Facebook Page. These pop-up activities can take the form of cycling the Camel Trail, horse riding on the Great Flat Lode Trail, abseiling or quad-biking, to name but a few. There are ongoing Pacific Oyster surveys under the auspices of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

If you would like to join our group, just turn up to the next session.

We are delighted to be able to restart LWL meetings in October.  We do need to make some changes, both for the safety of everyone, and to respect the legal position.  At present we may only have thirty people in the club at any time, in groups of six which don’t get too close to each other, and six in any group for outdoor activities.

We have some exciting events planned for you, but you will need to book these so that we know how many people to expect.  Within the club, we can have five groups running at once.  For outdoor activities, there is no limit on the number of separate groups who can attend, as long as someone is willing to lead each one (for instance finding the way on a walk).

Pam Hilton will be the contact point for bookings.  We will issue a list of events for each LWL day, and you will have a week to apply to Pam;  we will specify the closing date.  She will then try to allocate places so that everyone who wishes can at least do one activity.  She will keep a waiting list, so if you book for something and then realise you can’t attend it, please let her know as soon as possible.  You should email her on to make bookings.  Booking closes on the 5th October for the schedule below.
