The Silver Oyster Race held each year on November 5th is primarily for licensed Working Boats to commemorate the High Court victory of local Oystermen over Truro Corporation on November 5th 1902.  Refer to the pages for the Silver Oyster Trophies for more background details.

However, for many years unlicensed Working Boats took part but without any trophies to win.  Addressing this a pewter tankard was introduced in 2022/23 for the large (over 25ft) unlicensed boats.
