Saturday 3^rd August will be an exciting club event when the anglers in the club, and those who always wanted to give fishing a go, will have an opportunity to compete for prizes or just have a day out on the water fishing for fun.

The following are the standards the Fishing Competition will be run by:

• Fishing can take place from 08:00 to 17:00 Saturday 3^rd August
• The fishing area is Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay
• All landed fish must adhere to minimum legal landing size. The following minimum sizes are for the most common fish:
  • Bass 42cms
  • Mackerel 30cms
  • Pollock 30cms
  • Whiting 27cms
  • Bream 24cms
• Prizes will be awarded to the following:
  • Under 16 years of age: largest mackerel
  • 16 years and over: largest mackerel
  • Open (all ages): largest bass and ‘best’ fish

• Weigh-in and prize giving will be at 18:00 on the terrace
• Judging will take place by Andy Bartholomew
• The fishing competition will be cancelled in the event of unsafe conditions

This will be an opportunity for those members with a boat to consider offering a ‘fishing’ place to those members without a vessel so that this event is inclusive for all MYC members.
